What Brother Has Been Up To...

Since Marley has arrived! Giving sweet kisses.
Asking to hold her...look no hands!
Decorating her with stickers (Marley looks a little traumatized).
Giving her trucks to sleep with.
Attempting to take pictures in their matching shirts.
Chasing Mommy and Marley on the playground (Marley is in the Moby wrap).
And because he is such a great big brother...he gets sweet kisses in return.

Request #2

Not only have people wanted to know where we got her name, but others have been asking to see her hair. So, here are a few shots without a hat. I am still holding out for it to turn red, but red or not, she's a cutie!

Marley's Namesake

Several people have asked us where we came up with Marley's name. Actually, Daddy thought of Marley. He knew a girl growing up with that name and always liked it and thought it was unique...until they named a dog that too and made a movie about it! But, we loved the name and since Maggie is one of the most popular dog names, then Marley could join in with me too.

More importantly, her middle name, San, is after my very special Aunt Sandy. Sandy is my dad's twin sister and someone who I have been very close to and so blessed to have in my life. She is selfless, a giver, and makes everyone smile when you are around her. We lost Sandy unexpectedly two days after we found out Marley was a girl. She was so excited that we were having a baby girl! She is missed greatly every day, and Wes and I wanted to honor her by naming Marley after her. We always called her San!
Colt loved her so much too! He called her Sassy...I feel so blessed that he had the little time that he did with her.
So, I know that San was smiling down on Thursday morning when little Marley San arrived into this world.

Slip 'n Slide Fun

A couple of weeks ago, we got together with some friends to celebrate Courtney's 30th birthday. And of course, I got no pictures with Court, just pictures of the kids. The guys set up a slip 'n slide for the kids to play on...man was it a hit!

Colt and Carter had to check it out first...
Then Colt went for it...
And so did Caroline...
Then, it was bath time fun...how cute are they!
So, the next day, Wes went grocery shopping and came home with this...daddy is such a big kid!
Here's a little clip of the action too...

Giving Ellie a Bath

Well, first of all let me say that Ellie is not the only one who got a bath!
Colt definitely wanted to be keeper of the hose, and Ellie was very patient while it took a little longer than normal to get all of the soap off.
I think Colt and I had more fun than she did though.
Okay, so all three of us ended up getting a bath, but we had fun doing it!

Poor baby!

Did I mention in the last post that he is trying to dress himself? Well, today he ran in his room saying that he was going to put on his shorts and came out like this...
with a t-shirt around his waist. He was so upset we had to take it off that it was tough to take a picture!

And, you know you have a cold when your nose looks like this just from rubbing and blowing it...poor baby!

Fashion King

So, Colt is in the phase where he wants to help pick out his clothes and dress himself. The other day, he was adamant on this ensemble. In case it is hard to tell, he is wearing an orange and white striped t-shirt with UGA pajama pants...not only did it not match, but Daddy would not approve of Tennessee colors with Georgia pants.
So, as I was trying to get some shorts to go with his t-shirt, I found him in the sink doing this.
Fortunately, the problem was solved without upsetting him...his pants were wet, so we had to change. I love how he tries to be so independent!

Our Little Singing Sensation

Here is Colt singing two of his favorite songs...the "Itsy Bitsy Spider" and the "ABCs". Although, it is easy to get distracted when you are a two year old boy! He is so much fun...Wes and I are entertained constantly!

Now for the real distraction and the true boy coming out!

Better Late than Never

So the last time I posted, I told you we were going to the beach in two days. I am sure that you have all been checking to see if we actually did six weeks later...well, we did and had a great time. But, I am just getting around to posting the pictures. We went to Destin with our friends Wes, Blair, and their two boys Townes and Conn. It was a rough start for Colt...
He did not want to go in the ocean or even play in the sand, then we couldn't get him away.
Cute family pics...

The boys in their cute matching shirts that Blair had made for them...
Me with Blair and Silly Townes...
We had such a wonderful time with wonderful friends!

Our Little Fish

Wes took Colt to the pool last week, and I think that it was still a little too cold for him because he would not let Wes put him down. And all week I have been asking if he wanted to go, and he would say "no pool mama". Well, yesterday was a different story...here he was saying "I wimmin mama, I wimmin"!

And of course he had fun with daddy...

I think that we are in for a poolside summer! We are headed to the beach on Wednesday, so more pictures of our little fish are still to come.
