Treats, No Tricks

Today was a day full of treats! Mimi and Boppoo drove up to spend the day with us, and that was a treat in itself. Also, we made spider cookies to take to Townes' Halloween Party! These are oreo cookies with chow mein noodles for the legs and mini m&ms for the eyes. They turned out quite cute I thought!

We also had the treat of picking out and carving a pumpkin! Colt surveyed the selection...

Mom, how about this one?

Let the carving begin...

I am not so sure about what is in there Bops...

Just hanging out while Boppoo does all the work...

Colt got a personalized jack-o-lantern....

And the finished product...

It was a fun day...stayed tuned to see the cutest puppy ever!

Picasso is at it again...

Only mommy and daddy did not know about it this time. I guess a true artist can make anything their canvas, including the bathroom door. Thank goodness for "Magic Erasers" and digital cameras to still capture the moment and share with others!

Our Smart Dog

Okay, most people, well in fact everyone, would disagree with that statement. But, how did she move that pillow to get it perfectly in place for a nice afternoon nap?

I had a Moment

Today I decided to take Colt to get his hair trimmed. I normally take him to the girl who cuts my hair. But, I thought to myself...it may be good for him to have a kid-friendly experience and how could they mess it up as long as I am specific.

So, I took him to "Halfpint Haircuts" and told the lady three things...
1. I don't want it to look like that he has had a haircut.
2. I am not ready to let go of the curls yet.
3. Just trim his bangs so it is not hanging in his eyes and maybe a little over his ears.

Well, it is hard to tell exactly what they are doing when the hair is wet, but I started getting a little nervous at just how many cuts she was making. I think that she was on Mars when I made the above three statements because it definitely turned out to be a CUT rather than a TRIM.

So, I had my moment in the car. I made a few crying phone calls, but I just needed to hear Courtney say "I would react the same way if it was Caroline" and for my sister to say "I have definitely cried after one of Thatcher's haircuts". So, after my moment...I realized some good that could come out of this...
1. It is hair...it will grow back and the curls may bounce back a little after washing it.
2. He got to watch Elmo during his haircut, so that was fun!
3. He may enjoy the view of the world without looking through strands of hair (but that may only last a couple of months, because it might be a year before I cut his hair again).

And most importantly...he is still the most handsome 18 month old in the world!

Gold Rush

Last weekend Wes, Colt, and I went to Gold Rush Days in Dahlonega. We got to see many friends...some we hadn't seen in a while. Colt saw his buddies too.

Colt, Collin, and Carter...

Colt and Carter...

The boys and their mommies...

We had a great time!

Happy Anniversary Wes

When I think about how it has been 10 years since Wes and I met...I can't believe it. It has been such a wonderful journey with my best friend! From one of our first dates in college...

And making it through the difficult times, God has blessed us richly.

He is a fabulous husband...

And a great daddy.

I love you babe and look forward to many more years together!

What a Trooper!

It was quite a chilly and windy morning, and Colt was such a trooper to endure this while I got a run in.

You can see the enthusiasm on his face...

Then, he decided to check out some of mommy's tunes that she jams out to while running...

He is a great running companion!

Game Day Around the Muschara's

So, the good thing about Saturdays between the months of September and December is that you pretty much don't have to pick out an outfit because it definitely has to be red and black. Okay, so maybe that is a good thing for me, but for Wes and Colt (the future Dawg fan)...it is that football is on.

So, here is "Coltshon", as Wes likes to call him in this jersey...

Daddy and Colt ready for the game...

Another game day outfit (of course Mommy picked this one out)...

And we're all in red and black...GO DAWGS!

We went to our friends Mike, Kristen, and Collin's house this past weekend for the Georgia/Tennessee game. Colt got the best view of the play by play action!

Another Picasso Moment

We decided to make our dining room into a play room, and it was the best move ever! Colt so enjoys it, and it definitely helps keep the toys confined to their designated area. But, I did not know what to do on the walls since I was going to keep them the same color. So, instead of buying something...I now have priceless pieces of artwork!

Before I show you the finished product, this is how it started...

And he attempted to try to paint like this...

Then "Pappy" came in handy...

He began to get a little tired...

Which resulted in this...

Mom, how many more do I have to do?

Almost done...

And the final product...drum roll please...

A Colt Henry original...a true masterpiece! And you can tell by the third one, we had had enough, and nap time was quickly approaching. But, I do love things that tell a story!

Graduating to the Big Table

So, this week we reached another milestone...moving from the high chair to sitting in the booster at the table with mom and dad! And, of course, we had to start with messy spaghetti to really start off with a bang!

Since he was in a big boy chair, he wanted to feed himself like a big boy too!

Now, this picture is one of my favorites...what a precious face!

And the verdict is...we LOVE sitting at the table!

Republican or Democrat?

Having a hard time deciding? Ellie knows who she is pulling for in this election year!

An Outdoors Boy

Colt would definitely sleep outside if we let him. He LOVES to be outside...and now, the weather is getting perfect for it! My neighbor tells me that she always knows when we are going inside because Colt usually starts crying.

He also loves airplanes and never misses one. I guarantee you in the picture he was saying, "Mama airpane".

And in this picture, he was saying "Wait up Collin, I'm coming"...

Whether he is running,

playing in the sand,

or smelling the flowers...he is just glad to enjoy God's creation.

He also enjoys his climbing cube (my consignment sale steal, what a great find)...

And swinging with his cousin Jude.

And if we need a rest, Ellie is always happy to join him in the back of the car, and we don't even have to go inside...(thanks to SUVs, you can change a diaper, have a snack, or just rest in the back)!
