Grateful

"The Lord your God is with you,
He is mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you,
He will quiet you with His love,
He will rejoice over you with singing."

The First of Many First Days of School

So Colt started preschool today! I feel like time is flying and I tell everyone that I just want to say "freeze" to my kids and stop them from growing up so fast! But, I cherish every moment and feel SO blessed!

He had a great day, and when we got home, he said "Mommy, I miss preschool"! He loved it and clearly had no problem when I dropped him off (see below)...

And another first of many...sitting in car line waiting to hear all about his day!

And speaking of growing up too fast...Marley is doing just that! She is changing daily...pulling up, walking with her baby stroller, playing peekaboo (or hide and seek in this instance)!

Another sweet pic!

My cup runneth over!

Family Reunion

A few weeks ago, we went to Asheville for a family reunion. It was Wes' mom's side of the family, who gets together every other year. We had a great time...and here are some highlights!

Silly Colt...

Serious Colt...

Sweet Marley (and a swan)...

Sweet Marley (thinking what is this thing on my head)...

A family pic (and Marley showing some shoulder!)

The boys (Cliff, Uncle Kyle, Colt, and Daddy)

Daddy and Colt (so cute!)

Then, there is a tradition that Marley and I chose not to participate in. Across the street from where we stay is a great park with a creek. Well, creeks are cold, so Wes and Kyle started a Polar Bear's Club many years back. In order to be in it, you have to submerge yourself in the creek. Let me show some examples...

Long time members...Kyle

And Wes (wow, what an action shot)

And the newest member...

His lips were quivering, but that didn't stop him from this stunt. Kids, don't try this at home!

And another tradition is a talent show on Saturday night! Well, Colt has a hidden talent we didn't know about...and I guess he wants to be a rock climber!

It was such a great weekend! Clearly by the number (or lack there of) of pictures of us, Marley and I just enjoyed rocking on the front porch while Daddy and brother enjoyed cold creeks and tying rock climbing harnesses! I'll take rocking on the porch any day!

After a Summer and Technical Difficulties...

So, after the summer flew by and our computer got struck by lightning...I think we are back in business. I want to share a few (or 11) pictures from the past couple of months. Colt and Marley are growing so fast! They are a true joy to us!

Sweet girl...

Bath time fun...

All boy...

At the Gwinnett Braves game for Father's Day...

Love her dimples...

Mowing the grass with dad...

Gotta go...

But, I am hoping to post sooner than later. We have several things yet to come...a family reunion this weekend, our beach trip in a few weeks, and Marley's first birthday! Yes, I blinked and now she is almost one and Colt is three and a half! It goes by SO fast, so I try and cherish every moment!

Memorial Day Weekend

We had such a great weekend! Lots of family time equals lots of fun! Wes and I went crazy with the camera, so be prepared for the play by play of the weekend. Friday night, we went to our favorite Mexican restaurant, stopped by the store for cookie dough ice cream (yum), then played and played outside. Marley and I spent our time like this...

Whereas Wes and Colt spent their time like this...

And Ellie like this...

Then Saturday afternoon, we went to a park and had a picnic. So much fun!

Colt on the slide...

Marley on the slide too, just a smaller one of course...

Hanging with Daddy...

Saturday night, Wes and I went out with some of our best friends, Adam and Carrie. We hung out with other friends from college and had such a great time!

Our neighborhood pool opened this weekend, so we took the babies to the pool Sunday afternoon...

Again, Marley just hung out and got her feet wet...

While Colt made a much larger splash...

And the last news is that Marley started crawling...check it out!
I wasn't kidding about the play by play and crazy with the camera! Anyways, this is what a weekend is all about to me...time with my husband and babies. Wouldn't want to be anywhere else! But this particular weekend, Memorial Day, also has a special meaning. Let us not forget those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom, and continue to do so daily in the midst of this war.
