Future College Baseball Player

I think he may follow in the footsteps of his Uncle Kyle...well except for the team. We are definitely red and black fans over blue and orange! Here is Colt sporting his Georgia hat, and he actually kept it on for about 30 minutes!
And he has the frat boy hair and all!

Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes

For Colt's birthday, I made ice cream cone cupcakes to take to his sitter's for the kids to enjoy. Thanks to Sis for the great idea, these were a hit!

So, here is what you do...
1. Use a cake mix and fill cake ice cream cones about 2/3 full, just about to the rim where the cone gets larger. If you fill them too full, they will look like melted ice cream cone cupcakes. Bake them as directed on the box for cupcakes. I stand them in a muffin tin to bake.
2. Let them cool and ice them with whatever kind of icing you want.
3. Add sprinkles and a cherry sour on top and wa-la, you have a great easy-to-eat, cute treat.
4. Get Boppoo to make you a great cupcake cone holder, and the trip in the car will be completely stress free! Whereas last year, they rolled all over the box, and I thought I was going to get in a wreck to save cupcakes. Thank you Tony!

A Happy Easter

I love Easter...especially when you sit down and really think about the sacrifice Jesus made for our sins! It is also a great time to spend with family. And the picture trick we learned from Colt's birthday party worked wonderfully this time, pose and all (see below post).

A new fire chief is in town...

It's Colt!
We had his 2nd birthday party last Saturday, and as Colt likes to say, it was a "firecruck" party. We had such a fun time! I can't believe my baby is 2!
He was great at opening his gifts!
And we figured out how to get him to smile for a family picture...Daddy throws him up in the air about five times, then counts to three. Although, we didn't time the landing pose with the snap of the picture, but it is still cute.

Still fun the second time!

Shaving cream painting...Colt loves it, and I can get ready while he is contained in the shower! Fun for us both!

Secret Sticker Decorator

Yesterday, I suddenly found these stickers on my wall, but no evidence of who did it.
Then, I think I found the culprit, with the evidence on his shirt! This is such a fun age!

How He Loves

I know, it has been forever since I have blogged...so sorry! I am not one who gets too deep in these things, but I heard a song in church this morning that brought tears to my eyes...How He Loves...listen to it here.

Okay, what doesn't bring tears to my eyes, but I really needed to hear this this morning. I think sometimes I don't allow God's love to completely cover me, I guess I don't feel worthy or deserving of His unending love. But, it is times like these...tough times...when I crave His love, His comfort, His peace, and His security. And, I love the line that says, "if His grace is an ocean, then we're all sinking". I think that sometimes stubborn me tries to stay afloat so that I can be in control when I really just need to sink in His grace!

So, this gets me back to my original blog title I thought of..."What we've been up to". And when I started looking at the pictures, the friends, the family, the blessings of the last few months...I am reminded, no matter how tough the times, oh how He loves us! And oh how we're blessed!

So, in a brief review, this is what we've been up to...

Enjoying what little snow would stick to the ground during the brief flurry at the first of the year.
Took a wonderful cruise to Mexico with Wes and other co-workers from his company in February.
Seeing wonderful friends for special occasions...
Carrie for her baby shower to celebrate Baby Cohen's arrival in May.
And Heather for her 30th birthday.
Watching Colt grow and enjoy some of his favorite things...stickers and climbing
Painting (of course)
Brushing a pig (he was asleep, but I was really afraid we were going to wake him up...it wasn't gentle brushing)
Reading with Nonny and Uncle Kyle
And welcoming the arrival of my niece, Scarlette Grace (here with her sweet big brother Jude)
Colt loving on his new baby cousin
And, I saved the best news for last...WE'RE PREGNANT! Colt is going to be such a great big brother (see picture above)! We are so excited, and of course I could not figure out how to scan the ultrasound picture since my husband is snoozing. But, I am 14 weeks and the baby is due October 1.

So, all these things continue to remind me...no matter how tough it seems, His love, His blessings...amazing and overwhelming!
