So I didn't keep my promise...

It makes me sad to think that it has been 2 months since my last post, and I was still catching up on the summer and Marley's birthday! But, no need to be sad, but just start anew. So, here is just a glimpse of what the holiday season, snow, and the joy of being parents brought our way...wouldn't trade it for anything!

Fun times...

All about family...

And friends...

A Week in Review: Day 2

A couple of weeks after we went to the beach, our sweet little Marley turned 1! I cannot believe how fast a year goes by...we had a great time celebrating her birthday!

Waking up on her birthday morning and having a birthday pancake...brother helped blow out the candle!

AA was in town for her birthday (and Thatcher too, but we missed Maddie, Macey, and Big T)!

We had an ice cream party!

And Marley really enjoyed her cake!

The whole gang...we had SO much fun!

A Week in Review

It has been way too long and we have had way too much going on for me not to share. So, I have decided to try and catch you up in about a week. We will see how this goes seeing that my postings are every 2 months lately. But, I have not even shared with you our wonderful vacation to the beach with our dear friends, Adam, Carrie, and their sweet baby Cohen. So, let's start there. Over Labor Day, we took a great trip to the beach with some great friends! Here are a few highlights...

It is trips like this that we will remember forever...just to see your babies light up when they put their feet in the sand, laugh when the waves tickle them, just relax and have no schedule, and spend time and celebrate with a family who has been through so much but seen God's blessings through it all! More to come...

Grateful

"The Lord your God is with you,
He is mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you,
He will quiet you with His love,
He will rejoice over you with singing."

The First of Many First Days of School

So Colt started preschool today! I feel like time is flying and I tell everyone that I just want to say "freeze" to my kids and stop them from growing up so fast! But, I cherish every moment and feel SO blessed!

He had a great day, and when we got home, he said "Mommy, I miss preschool"! He loved it and clearly had no problem when I dropped him off (see below)...

And another first of many...sitting in car line waiting to hear all about his day!

And speaking of growing up too fast...Marley is doing just that! She is changing daily...pulling up, walking with her baby stroller, playing peekaboo (or hide and seek in this instance)!

Another sweet pic!

Family Reunion

A few weeks ago, we went to Asheville for a family reunion. It was Wes' mom's side of the family, who gets together every other year. We had a great time...and here are some highlights!

Silly Colt...

Serious Colt...

Sweet Marley (and a swan)...

Sweet Marley (thinking what is this thing on my head)...

A family pic (and Marley showing some shoulder!)

The boys (Cliff, Uncle Kyle, Colt, and Daddy)

Daddy and Colt (so cute!)

Then, there is a tradition that Marley and I chose not to participate in. Across the street from where we stay is a great park with a creek. Well, creeks are cold, so Wes and Kyle started a Polar Bear's Club many years back. In order to be in it, you have to submerge yourself in the creek. Let me show some examples...

Long time members...Kyle

And Wes (wow, what an action shot)

And the newest member...

His lips were quivering, but that didn't stop him from this stunt. Kids, don't try this at home!

And another tradition is a talent show on Saturday night! Well, Colt has a hidden talent we didn't know about...and I guess he wants to be a rock climber!

It was such a great weekend! Clearly by the number (or lack there of) of pictures of us, Marley and I just enjoyed rocking on the front porch while Daddy and brother enjoyed cold creeks and tying rock climbing harnesses! I'll take rocking on the porch any day!
